Hi,
I studied my MA in Transnational Studies at the University of Southampton in 2005/06 and absolutely loved it! At the time I was working at the International Sailing Federation but needed a change of direction in my career... I had always wanted to study at a UK university so didn't think about it twice when I was offered a place!
I had to work a lot on my assignments but all the academic staff were very helpful and supportive, and I never had any problems finding the materials I needed at the library. I could even go home in Spain during the summer to complete the fieldwork for my dissertation, which again was very hard work but really enjoyable because I was passionate about the topic
A few months later I saw a job at the International Office and decided to apply for it... I had also been offered to continue with a PhD at the Modern Languages Department but the opportunity to travel for the International Office could not be misssed, so I decided to take the job.
I have now been working at the International Office for almost 3 years and the most rewarding part of my role is meeting other international students who are interested in coming to the UK to study as I did.
Good luck and keep in touch!
